Welcome to Robert George Design Group's: That's Landscaping
We are a a small family owned business providing full service, interior
and exterior design and build for home and landscape, from concept to completion.
Located in Red Hook, NY and serving Ulster and Duchess Counties,
our practice reflects the unique environment and history of the Hudson Valley
and the Catskill Mountain region.
In 30 years of service, we have worked consistently with local craftspeople
and suppliers: woodworkers, stonemasons, ceramicists, and blacksmiths,
among many others. Our stone is harvested from local farms and quarries,
our hardwoods provided by local sawmills.
We choose to harvest dead-standing and dead-fallen locust and
cedar trees for our gates, fences, and arbors. We deconstruct old barns
and structures, reusing and repurposing beams, hardware and siding.
Today, we use the latest LEED and Energy Star certified green construction
materials and techniques. For us, green building is not a choice:
it's our responsibility, the way we do business, and our way of life.
Whether your interest is in small public art and sculptural projects to a
community trail connecting the towns in your area to even a statewide local farm
collective, we look for philanthropic partners with uncommon perspective.
Robert George holds a degree from Bard College and studied
horticulture and landscape design at SUNY Delhi.
He is a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley.
